Sandplay  Therapy:  What is it?

Sandplay Therapy is a unique type of non-verbal psychotherapy that may benefit both adults and children.

As a 3-dimensional form of creative self-expression there is no right or wrong way to "play in the sand."  Sandplay can broaden communication  and help to externalize concerns without the need for verbalizing or analyzing.

Sandplay not only helps to resolve problems from the past, it stimulates growth and creativity in the present. Endorphins released during sandplay help  promote feelings of well-being.

Sandplay is a good alternative for those who feel stuck in verbal therapy.  It has been shown to be effective with issues such as depression, co-dependency, eating disorders, anxiety, grief and loss as well as trauma history.
